CRISTA Senior Living has two beautiful campuses for the senior community where residents live in a caring environment that meets their needs for independent and assisted living, and memory care. Many of our residents at CRISTA Senior Living enjoy listening to the CRISTA Media radio station SPIRIT 105.3. When Lois Jasmer, a resident at Crista Shores in Silverdale, heard the station was engaging in 30 days of prayer and a donation drive for the work of World Concern in Ukraine, she had an idea. Lois organized a one-day prayer event for residents, local churches, and the community to gather.

“My thought was that we are here in the middle of town and what a great place for the community of Silverdale to place a flower and say a prayer,” Lois said. “We asked any resident that wanted to come and say a prayer for the people of Ukraine and place a sunflower in their honor to meet us at the fence. We also reached out to the local churches and asked if they wanted to come by as well and pray. It was attended by about 35 residents and staff, and prayers were said for the Ukrainian people as well as the missionaries and others there helping the people of Ukraine. Part of the flier we put out for the event mentioned the 30 days of prayer and a link to World Concern so they could donate if they felt moved.”

This was a One CRISTA moment, as three of our ministries—CRISTA Senior Living, CRISTA Media, and World Concern— collaborated to serve people throughout the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
