IRS Form 990 Update Following CRISTA Receiving Church Classification
On November 15, 2021, CRISTA Ministries (EIN#91-6012289) received a letter of confirmation that the organization has met the requirements for classification as a public charity described in IRC Sections 509 (a)(1) and 170 (b)(1)(A)(i). This type of classification is commonly referred to as having received church recognition pursuant to IRS rules. As the result of being classified as a church, CRISTA is not required to file an IRS Form 990, effective for CRISTA’s fiscal year that concluded on June 30, 2021.
