King’s Schools has welcomed international and domestic students since its inception in 1949. Many of these students came with their parents, who chose to work during the first years at King’s Garden, a ministry in Shoreline, Washington. Others came from across the United States to receive an excellent Christian education.

With a more formal approach beginning in 2019 when Mary Hudon was asked to lead the International Student Program, the school has expanded this year to host international and domestic students who are boarding on the beautiful campus of CRISTA Ministries, where King’s is located. King’s Schools offers independent living boarding programs for 8th to 12th grade and loving host families for 4th to 7th, enriching student diversity and providing access to a cutting-edge, college-prep, Christ-centered education and extra-curricular activities.

“We are responsible for these kids, and we want them to be safe, well cared for, and in an amazing place not only for their education, but for their emotional and spiritual welfare,” Hudon said. “Facilities have done a fabulous job with our dorms, and they are gorgeous! It’s like a five-star hotel. Anyone would want to live there. It has all the amenities, including a business center, laundry space, game room, study hall, dining room, and living hall. The rooms are beautiful with brand new furniture.”

King’s Schools has a strong reputation for excellence, providing a preparatory education for college while teaching from a Christian worldview. King’s academics, teachers, counselors, administrators, and ELL (English Language Learning) support help students succeed intellectually and prepare to attend the best colleges in the United States, while the caring, family-like environment at King’s builds the resilience they need to face the pressures of life.
